<div class="IPBDescription">Inspirational tunes</div>So, what do you guys listen to while mapping? Right now I'm shuffling and looping a bunch of tracks from the Aliens series, but they're starting to get old...
well, i just listen to normal music (normal for me), anything by john williams, and that band that did the music for tropico. ya, i bought their CD its so good <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
I'm mostly listening to my normal hard rock and heavy metal stuff á la Nickelback, The Pimps, War in America, Limp Bizkit etc., or jazz and blues (The Eels, anyone?).
OK, not exactely the kind of music that fits Natural Selection, but it helps me concentrate.
well I sense this topic will get offtopic real soon, but anyway if I work on my ns_collage (keep sending those scraps mappers <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> )I just listen to a CD (morbid angel, deicide, cannibal corpse etc. )
Tom Waits. "What's he building in there?" <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->
Mostly game soundtracks... like System Shock 1 and 2, Unreal Tournament, Golden Eye, Gran Turismo 3, Metal Gear Solid 2...
Try here if any of the above sound good <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> <a href="http://www.gamingforce.com/audio/mp3/" target="_blank">Gamingforce-Audio</a>
I dont map but nothing is better than: LinkinPark, Papa Roach, System of a Down, P.O.D, Greenday and some limpbizkit songs (8 but a little man said something like this to me on #naturalselection : [16:12:33] eBnar )) he just listed some of the worst bands out there <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo--> well the taste if like the ###, hairy. BTW thanks to Plague who helped me with my avatar <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo--> kiss on you!
Sorry, limp bizkit, gag <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo--> I'm glad Wes Borland left...he was in the wrong band.
I have found I do my best stuff whilst chilling to Kyuss. Tool second place, then in no particular order, NIN, Queens of the Stone Age, Incubus, SOAD, Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd, Faith no More and Earthtone9.
I listen to <a href="http://www.monkeyradio.org" target="_blank">Monkey Radio</a> constantly while mapping. That and the inspiringly beautiful <a href="http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/19/jeremy_soule.html" target="_blank">compositions</a> of <a href="http://www.jeremysoule.com" target="_blank">Jeremy Soule</a> who was once reported to have been interested in NS, and maybe write music for it (dont quote me [or anyone else] on that tho).
Oh yea, and then there's Gorillaz and Soundgarden off my CDs when I'm bored of my ridiculous bandwidth <!--emo&:0--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'><!--endemo-->
hmm... let's see... i'f i'm in a dangerous mood and am running WC/Hammer <b>and</b> winamp, i'll be listening to: -Fear Factory -Ozzy -Powerman 5000 -Darude -Paul Oakenfeld -The White Stripes -Moby -Adema -Saliva -Papa Roach -Fuel -Linkin Park -Buckcherry -P.O.D. -Rage Against The Machine -Eve 6
i was expecting someone else to say pr0n soundtracks, but i guess i'm the only one. my favourite of my well-endowed collection is "Star Pecker II:Going Further than any man has gone before" the alien squeals and funky baseline are excellent for inspiration. ~;)
I listen to whatever CD I pull out of my collection and stick in the drive. With over 60 CDs, and over 40 of those being CDs with 600+ MB of mp3s, I've got too much to list. Suffice it to say 98% of it fits under the category "Classic Rock."
Oh, and I do like to listen to the occasional avant garde radio stream.
right, you guys seriously listen to some of the wierdest music I've ever heard of. <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->
I normally just like to kick back and listen to some Crystal Method, Lunatic Calm, or Prodigy, often Our Lady Peace, tons of Linkin Park, Rage Against The Machine, but Most importantly, Jimi Hendrix (sounds out of place, doesn't it?

I don't listen to music much when mapping, but when I do it's usually something along the lines of Korn, deftones, Kittie, American Head Charge, etc... Though it's a bit ironic that I'm eagerly awaiting my chance to get ahold of the Halo soundtrack. That classical/chant is just kickin, and would probably be very suitable for mapping.
I'v been listening to some reggae á la Eek A Mouse lately but it does NOT help me mapping. It's to slow and rythmical. You see, i have to do everything in the same rythm as the song (sorry, bad english there).
Anyway, you should see me making a sandwich listening to slipknot <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->
No really, here's what i like:

I would attack each musician one by one, but since I don't want to start a fight ill just attack kenny G. If you like to listen to smooth jazz saxophone at least try the good stuff. Kenny G plays out of rythm and off pitch and just sounds like a sissy. For some good smooth jazz try Kirk Whalum and Dave Sanborn. And if you are interested in some really good saxophone, try Chris Potter, Michael Brecker, and OF COURSE Coltrane, cough, Trane, cough.. lol
