"So CDT you promised me improved loading times but i don't see anything being faster, loading times got even worse."

If that sentence fits to your current situation, please read and follow these steps:

1. Due to the fact that ns2 doesn't have a digital signature many anti virus tools don't trust it. This means they look extra caution into any file ns2 loads.

As ns2 now uses multiple threads to load this can (combined with your AV analyzing every file) cause a lot IO access overhead at your PC which will make it loading "turtle" slow.

So please make sure ns2 is set as trustworthy application in your anti virus softwares settings!

2. Defragment your HDD (Do not do this with your SSD!)

Why you should defrag your hdd from time to time

I personally recommend Defraggler for defragmenting (made by the same devs as CCleaner).

Just analyze your partitions with it and defragment them if they are over 5% fragmented, this will not only speed up the loading of games but also your system start ;)

3. If the above steps didn't help you please contact a cdt dev or open a thread in the technical support sub-forum of UWE.

They will basically analyze every file ns2 loads into the memory. As ns2 now uses multiple threads to load this can combined with your av cause alot overheat overhead at your pc which will make it tirtle turtle slow.

As a general tip, you should be able to auto defrag your hdd's, not ssd's, at a set interval. Once a month should be good enough.

@AceDude check out that link for defraggler. Why does it redirect here?

Sorry, back on topic. I'll try both of these and report back. :)

Exempting the Natural Selection 2 folder, the Appdata NS2 folder and the ns2.exe from my AV, e.g. Real Time and Guard module, helped me a lot.

There's gonna be a fixed bug in the next patch that may decrease time (it will for me, I think).
