Nasty Nasty Marine Tactic, Needs Nerfing

Jetpack + Standing On Hive + Medpacks
Ran into this very nasty tactic that was used to pretty much single handedly win the game for the marines.
One marine was pretty good with a jetpack. What he would do is jet through the entire map, over several alien turrets, and either be untouched or quickly healed by the commander.
Then when he gets to the enemy hive, he just jumps on top of the hive, points his HMG down, and depresses the trigger.
In most maps, the hive is angled in such a way that it's either very difficult to impossible to get offencive turrets down to cover the top of the hive. So it's up to the aliens to try to take him down themselves.
Only problem is, they couldn't. He had a HMG, any skulks that would get close to him would be instantly gunned down. Fades didn't have much better luck.
In one position, we couldn't even see him, and didn't realize who was shooting us from where until after the hive was dead.
No problem, he runs out of ammo or eventually loses his health, right? Wrong. The commander basically drops him unlimited health and ammo as fast as he can. Combined with the difficult angle which made it so we could barely touch him, this was pretty much the end of the game. Even if we did kill him, the commander would just send him in with another jetpack and our defences are as useless as usual.
Perhaps if we had some webbing. Alas, we did not.

I thought he hadn't demanded nerfing at all, but I guess I misread the topic's title ...
Build offense chambers on top of the hive, by climbing onto the ceiling as a skulk and dropping down onto the hive. Evolve into a gorge, and bingo, you can build on the hive.
Done it a few time, more out of fun than effectiveness, and probably might annoy teammates if your resources are low. Better done with plentiful resources.
*snigger*
excuse me...
/me walks outside the room and roars with laughter
Okay. Okay. *chuckle* You honestly couldn't kill this guy?
OH
MY
GOD
No, there's nothing wrong with this tactic. Nothing at all. And you and your teammates need to go back to combat school
WRONG!! He can't use is weapon in the web so he can't attack anything.
There is nothing wrong with that tactic just use your brains and build some defense, it is not all that hard to beat.
I don't understand why people call for nerfs... there is nothing wrong there it is a tactic. Get it ? A tactic ! Guess what, you can beat that tactic, just make up a tactic to counter that tactic , are you starting to understand ?
Failing that, evolve to fade, and fire three acid rockets at the roof above the marine. Problem solved.
By the way, many of the hives in the game are too close to the ceiling for anybody to fit on top, so it's not a guarunteed win tactic...
Webs are good. A skulk guarding the hive is ideal, but limited man power usually prevents this. Does anyone know how high an OC can shoot? 20 degrees? Knowing that will help us place OC's in more effective positions. When some people say evolve to Fade or Lerk, thats probably not gonna work. By the time you evolve, the hive is probably already gone.
While they are out playing Top Gun, we could pretty easily destroy their base, but if they are good, they can destroy our hives first. Basically this means that Aliens are forced into playing defense. Why did we build all those DCs and OCs if they can fly right by? (Well I know why, Im just trying to make a point.)
It seems to me that aliens need some fresh tactics to take on GOOD Jetbos. Otherwise its just chasing them from hive to hive hoping to get there before they weld or HMG it to death. I'm not complaining, I think Jetbo'ing is a legitimate tactic, and any legitimate tactic that works is a good tactic. Kharaa just need a better way to fight it.
Yes.
I do this EVERY game, because I knew people would do this. I skulk up, evolve, get a lot of RPs, and build 3 offense chambers with a def in the centre.
Bwahahahahahaha.........I wonder what that would look like.
