Hey all,
Hope this is the right subforum, if not im sure a mod will move it. :)

It seems workshop is sort of down for various games. If you look at the workshop its rather...empty.
You can already find some topics about it on the steam community.

Now as valve has not given a reason why or a indication of problems, its hard to say if its just the visual part or that no workshop files can be accessed.
I expect in the latter that we need to run vanilla servers as more and more mods will fail.

In the meantime I ripped out the mods on the TAW pub server.

BTW http://steamworkshopdownloader.com/ can save your ass (sadly not when it comes to ns2 due to the fact that ns2 doesn't fall back to the local mod files if the workshop call timed out) for most other games when workshop is getting dizzy again.

Also there are already tons of topics about how bad workshop is etc. specially in the server sub-forum. So to avoid having just more places to read about "this issues" i will close this thread now.

TL;DR: Workshop is well known for going down and being not reachable from time top time (specially at the weekend or while sales are going on) since a long time. Lately it seems just to get even worse. If you like to debate about this situation please visit the server sub-forum. Thanks ;)

Just to add, http://steamworkshopdownloader.com/ does work for NS2. You just have to append ".zip" if it tries to download a a file with no file extension

With "saving your ass" i meant that you can just use it in case when steam workshop has issues to manually download the mods. For ns2 downloading the mod manually doesn't help at all as the mod doesn't gets mounted if the workshop call for it times out.
