You now about ns2 4k and crashing, I have a theory.
Note I do not have a 4k monitor OR experience so this is in essence a gamble.
4k is a LOT of resolution & pixels.
ns2 is 32bit.
How high is the chance that 4k + all the shinies like anti alias and anisotropic filtering, simply push ns2 over the memory limit of a 32b application?
I'd say that it is a GUI bug. 32bit limitation is 4GiB and it crashes with out-of-memory, not a freeze. GUI bugs with awesomium-gui are usually freezes.
Interesting. I should try with Virtual resolution... Is your GUI poorly sized even in 2K = native/2 resolution?
At the risk of starting flame war again: 4K and 8K are overkill and waste of money/Watts, unless you play with a microscope.

@bp2008 If it ever is changed you will see it in the changelog on the blog / news page in game.
I still wouldn't recommend attempting to play this game in 4k resolutions, regardless of compatibility, just due to the framerate you're going to get... but *shrug* that's your prerogative
Does anyone know if 21:9 works on NS2? I'm debating on the new Dell 34" but don't want to buy it and then be kicked off servers. And to be very clear I'm hinting at 3440x1440.

Should work... don't expect great performance though.

Many elements of the GUI are still not sized correctly.
It froze after about 3 minutes.
So I take this to mean nothing has changed.
