Stuck on Initializing Game screen.

Hello, I recently purchased Natural Selection 2 and when attempting to join any server, I watch it loading various mods, reaching 100% on each, then stopping at "Initializing Game" and just sitting for the longest time.

What should I do to move forward? Sorry if I am missing key information, please help me along with what you need to know.

    First open your console by the ~ key.. Does it say anything? Is it still busy with something?
    Also you could run techsupport.exe in the natural selection 2 folder. It makes a zip for us with info.

    Type f_log into the console and press enter. If it's loading files then you just have to keep waiting and waiting until it finishes loading. To turn off just type f_log false. If it's not loading files then something is wrong.

    Ah - never mind.
    I managed to get it to load the game - just a bit laggy, 15 FPS - still playable.

    Couldn't stand your player base though. I don't think I'll be coming back to this one.
    A tip: Ban skinflute. It seems the only purpose of his life is to cuss at other players - including ones just watching

    Please do not base your experiences with 1 person, as a indication for the whole playerbase.
    yes there are rotten apples, but MANY are good players. Often servers from communties are better as they have admins who will keep a eye on things.
