Pirates! Serioiusly, this idea is neither unique nor is it reasonable. It would mean a ton of additionaly work and money needed for creating the models and the techtree this race needs. It would exponentiate the effort needed to balance the races. It would be another incentive for noobs to say UWE copied Starcraft.
If you want to play 6v6v6, play Pirates, Vikings and Knights.
Surely you mean zombies. Every game is better with the addition of Zombies (these will be space pirate zombies) Bom Bom!!

The idea may not be unique, but it would certainly make for a unique game. The only asymetrical FPS ever to try 3 races that I know of is AvP. To do it in an FPS+RTS has literally never been attempted before to my knowledge.
As far as effort... keep in mind this is NOT "suggestions to improve NS2". We are talking about an entire new game here. If that doesn't take a lot of effort you aren't doing it right to begin with.
Oh but they are! It is map dependant though and you need at least 8 people.
On tram for example, 1-2 marines (depending on playercount) to your naturals. Send the rest to north tunnels. Have them power build a robo factory, sentries, and an armory. Get an observatory up in north tunnels and a second ip as soon as you can. You won't have any of these structures in base. Now you need to keep your marines alive so they can't push too far. You need to hold your base and two naturals, so at least 3 rt's, and deny aliens their naturals from north tunnels. One marine must stay in north tunnels at all times.
So you have your 3 resnodes, aliens have 1. Then you put out an arc, maybe two, and arc out their only RT. From then on you build more RT's where possible while the arcs kill the only hive.
It forces the aliens to rush bile bomb instead of other upgrades. You must do your damage before bile bomb is finished. Once it is up you recycle north tunnels and tech up.
I do not know about other maps. I could see it working on eclipse depending on alien start. Really you just need spot really close to alien start that allows you to deny their naturals. On tram if you hold north tunnels sentries or marines will kill any cysts to platform. You don't need many marines to hold north tunnels with sentries so more can go and hold ore.

so....Kharra infested TSF.
I wanted to make a joke here, but a hybrid team actually sounds interesting :P

I was gonna say infested terrans, but, suiciding sappers would probably be a bad idea =P
development team simply failed to deliver a true successor to Natural Selection.
Throughout the development they were forcing broken ideas to work, refusing to remove the things that didn't work and simply kept moving away further away from the things what made natural selection work. The ground work natural selection created was simply ignored, much like the older crowd.
aside from the terrible gameplay design mistakes they made, the engine itself was huge let down. was on failure from lunch day where promises were made it won't run like it did during beta, well everyone knows how that went. Many users kept saying its not realistic problems will be fixed but worry not development team said...
its pretty clear by now development for this game has stopped. Hard to say if charlie got lucky creating Natural selection or just simply sold out making Natural selection 2 since between the two versions you notice huge gap of gameplay changes in ns2 which impacted the game in such negative way their was no way in fixing it unless they change how everything worked.
Many here already accepted this game for whatever it is. Some like it, others might have minor issues and others just accepted it whatever it is now.
ns1 had much better longevity in the long run, lower budget to create and even smaller team... while ns2 had larger team, bigger budget, much shorter life span.
If ns3 ever comes it will have to be done by different team unless charlies stops thinking outside the box and realize fixing what works doesn't mean its broken.

See that's where you are wrong.
NS2 could get away with just being NS1 redone because they were converting a mod into a full game. There were reasons why it needed to be re-done and that change alone is more than enough to call it NS2 and not NS1.5.
NS3 can not do the same thing. NS2 is a full game built from the ground up. Simply building it all over again is not going to cut it for a sequal. Moreover, NS2 is already set up for maps and modding, so any sort of small tweaks and bonus content (maps, weapons etc) won't do either. If you tried to make NS2 but "fixed" what you would have is the L4D2 level of fan-milking except that NS fans wouldn't take it. It would kill BOTH games simultaneously.
NS3 (if it is to be made at all) needs to be a completely new game with a bigger better scale in a way that NS2 could not possibly ever achieve. Anything less is a death sentence for both games.
Stop thinking outside the box? Really? There are enough people saying NS2 was not different enough from NS as it is.
NS3 needs to be really outside the box. It needs to be outside at least 5 boxes.

Who says that?
There are more than enough differences for NS2 to be counted as a sequel.
I would love it if NS3 had a much bigger scope though.
.. less focus on a competitive scene while ignoring the non competitive ... look after the non competitive and the competitive will grow (not the other way around .. 101 how to increase your playerbase)
.. a proper release of a finished product
.. proper testing
.. smoother feel
.. scale game to make servers like those nasty 40+ player servers viable balancewise .. as it is, they just leech players from servers
( on this, @Mendasp .. any chance you'd 'ignore' servers over 20 players (or whatever) in the browser as a CDT update? :P )
'We have very specific company and project goals but generally work better by “doing” over “planning”.'
I'd suggest if NS3 came about .. that more is put into the planning side of things..
As for actual content of NS3 .. I don't really care as long as fades and lerks make it into it

Too bad sentry rushes aren't viable =P

Cannon does not rush, he is too slow and crappy at shooting ;-) having 40fps doesn't help.

Anyways, I think in a few years when development for NS3 starts and then goes into testing we will be pleasantly surprised.
