Ok, so this has been happening ever since I went to the new tree area.(The one where the PDA says that the tunnels are probably from animals)
First I got huge weird tentacle mountain things sticking out of the water, so that was fun. And scary.
I went under them and went home, and had to reset my game to fix this bug.
But now, every so often, when I'm in my Seamoth, I got a error message and the game crashed. Happened 5 times. Soon I got no message and just crash.
Now I can't go five steps in the game regardless of whether or not I'm in my Seamoth.
I have a Nvidia Geforce 960, 9.4 GB of RAM, tried -force-d3d9, verifying game integrity via Steam, and uninstalled and reinstalled(Which I think gave me time before crashing to get home, but a couple of minutes after I went out again it started happening again). I deleted the cache and it worked, but I feel as though I might as well start a new game.
You could also try destroying and spawning a new seamoth (take out upgrades, dive it below 200m, do console command ' spawn seamoth ' ). For whatever reason that also helps.
Started new game yesterday after being away for several months. Been getting quite a bit of loading stutter these days. The game was fairly stable yesterday, but now that I've added a moon pool and 2 external grow beds with spore sacks and acid mushrooms to my base, I'm getting crashes when I run up on it too fast with the Sea Moth.
Here's my last 3 crash log folders and a link to my slot 5 save game.
Went out to the North Eastern Koosh Wreck, only there was no wreck. I'd made maps, so I saved my game and restarted the app. Game kills me and I respawn at the lifepod. Reload again. I'm down to 10% health, but I'm alive. Koosh Wreck is now where it's suppose to be. I try to go back to my home base in the Safe Shallows. On approaching my base, no matter how slow I try and creep up on it, my game will crash. Tried deleting my save game's temp directory, but that didn't help. Last time I had this problem, I cured it for awhile by deleting all cell data from my save game except for the one with my base in it. I think the game may be creating multiple instances of wrecks and bases. Recently I tried to use a laser cutting torch on a door in a wreck and the cutter kept restarting. There was like 7 copies of the door instanced. When I finally cut through I had a stack of cut disks on the ground. Game isn't very stable once its in this state. You need a fix asap, as it will eventually corrupt all save games.
I got multiple crashes (so often I'm not able to play now) and stutter (on quite powerfull pc). I moved Subnautica to SSD but that didn't help. Tried lowest graphic settings but still no joy. Game freezes and than crashes.
Constant freezing and crashing in both normal and experimental branches. Game has just become completely unplayable.
Becomes very unstable near Koosh zone. I've zipped all crashes together.
I think they do, but they just grab the crash data and put it with the others, they have IIRC thousands of F8 reports etc, so they try to find what's common between them to find what's causing the bugs.
Crash to desktop during gameplay, so far the pattern seems to be that it occurs when I'm travelling in the Seamoth. So far I've observed it happen while travelling to/from the mountain island from/to my sea base (located under the escape pod).
The game's performance has been getting steadily worse since I started playing. Specifically it will hitch for several seconds at a time while travelling. When the hitch ends, new items will draw in eg. kelp, wrecks, more detailed terrain, and so on. The crash almost always occurs 5-10s after such a hitch.
Additionally, the game takes up to 30 seconds to load when I choose my save file from the main menu now. It previously never took more than 15.
Steps already taken:
Video driver already up-to-date following a recent clean installation
Audio driver removed & reinstalled from realtek website
Windows ain't getting updated because it's windows 10.
Game uninstalled > re-downloaded > verify cache in steam
Disable additional background processes eg. FRAPS
Disconnected unneeded peripherals (game controllers)
Audio frequency changed from 24-bit 48000Hz to 24-bit 44100Hz
Forced D3D9 mode
Ran the game executable as admin
Edit: Never seems to happen outside that particular area. I've been in the grand reef for about an hour with only some hitching to report there.
Game crashes already a few times when im traveling to the floating island above the glowing mushrooms in my cyclop. Yet i was playing for a few days and didn't meet any other crashes at all.
By the way, i wanted to say thanks, this game gave me one of the best ingame exploring experiences i ever had. Great job!
Game crashed multiple times in the past few days, usually when going into cells on the map that I've previously visited and done a lot of exploring in. Almost unplayable at this point with hitches and crashes happening regularly when I go to my base or travel around inside of it.
As with a lot of people here it seems, the game was working perfectly up until a few days ago. (Glad it's not just me). Usually crashes when loading me into a new area or biome, though it will still crash at random sometimes just within my own base. It's totally unplayable now, I can get maybe 4 minutes of playing in before I crash again. This is just the most recent crash out of countless other. Sometimes it'll give me an error message, sometimes it'll just exit straight to desktop with no warning.
Error logs and what not attached. This only just started happening today, so I'll destroy and remake my Seamoth since it's only while I'm... In or around it, for some reason. I have 6 logs in total in a span of 30 minutes.
When im in my base it seems mostly fine until i got into the water and then the lagging starts. I only get about 5 minutes before it will crash and this is very new as i've been playing it on high settings for hours only a week or two ago.
Just got into this game two days ago and am extremely disheartened to read all of these very recent (past 3 days) reports of crashing. I am experiencing the same crash - long 5-10 sec hitches followed by a crash to desktop with a crash message. Seems to happen only when I am travelling between the Island and the lifepod. Has made the game unplayable for now. I got addicted fast! This game has a ton of potential. Some of the best/most terrifying exploration experiences I've ever had in a game! Please make it playable again

I've bought subnautica in november and the game has been crashing every time i explore somewere around the base (every time it charges a new biome). I can't play anymore.
This just started for me recently as with others. I had over 24 hours in without a single crash. It's been a little while since I fired the game up but as of yesterday, it appears to crash consistently when moving to a different biome.
