The entire sea in that area should be boiling if there's exposed lava flows like that. Just for visibly glowing lava, you're talking a stove burner of a few thousand degrees. That entire biome should be a rolling pot of steam, ash, and smoke. Forget the sub, those fish should be pre-cooked.
If the sea floor is hot enough to melt stone, you shouldn't even be able to see it from the smoke and steam. Because games, I guess.
I really want to get this game but I have a mac I know they are working on it but as of now do you know if they have a alpha release date for the mac.
You could try making a thread about that maybe, I'm sure others would be happy to hear that answered
except it's been done over on the steam community forums and the devs have chimed in on it over there.
not everyone would go there though, but OK ... A duplicate thread in steam and the subnautica forums, please no!
Joking aside, I think some people may view these forums before | instead of going to a 3rd party place to ask, as that is most logical imo,
and its good to have for future reference in the FAQs or something

volcanic thermal vents on Earth and look how many things survive around in that kind of heated water.
Not only do things survive, but that's likely to be the place where life first originated. Certainly you will see the most basic of life forms in those sort of extreme environments!

Similar things actually exist, just without the lava. They're called Black Smokers and look like this:
