Xerxys, love your idea of the vertical shafts, elevators & staircases / ramps! The idea of having a surface base that you can then quickly traverse to a lower base via a long ladder or elevator is awesome!

Thanks for the support. I kind of just rushed in and poured out my ideas, having since realised that many of them have been mentioned before in some way, so thanks as well for not just shooting me down on that one. I broke the cardinal rule of the boards - read what was already written! But the game is really exciting in the possibilities it's presenting that it kind of does make you want to just get in there and get the devs moving!
looks interesting. it would be cool if there was a way to make a base parts that isn't just corridors. that way it wouldn't look like a maze. also it would me putting the storage so that it isn't taking so much room in the corridors. a part for the base so that it can connect to the subs would be a cool idea. also some furnishing would be nice in the base that way it wouldn't look so empty.

Your wish is their command ;P Coming down the pipe...
After the maintenance patch early next week, they will be starting another significant update which is focused on bases again. So it will be a little while longer but it's next in line! Of course, experimental will start getting these earlier in the process before official release.
Unless things have changed, the generic rooms will be stack-able and will include a glass dome option. We will get glass corridors as well.
is there a thing to see when the next updates and upcoming features will come out? I notice Minecraft have it on their wiki page. I like to know when updates happen so that it doesn't feel like it is taking forever for something to happen. I am not rushing, I just want to know so that I can relax.
Yes, you can get the experimental branch of the game. it has everything developer have committed to the game updated a few times a day. Including any bugs that the PTs have not found and lined up for smashing.

Tell me when will this be ready for the experimental mode?
And is there going to be the option of having a glass dome?

Tell me also, will the new rooms be all round like that or there will be some cubic ones too?

BAM!
Make it like a big glass dome.
As well as connecting Corridors and connectors to the top and bottom.
