Acid Mushroom should still give +2 food but -5 health.

Acid mushroom looks like and should be a toxic one which would make people sick.

I hope you once implement that we lose certain amount of health as sacrifice for quick satiety on some situations. Like +2 food -5 health for each.

hell no. salt is hard enough to come by to cook food properly for 'shrooms to stop being a supplementary food source. It's still better to catch peepers, hoverfish, and spadefish for sustenance, but salt isn't always forthcoming when you need it.

I don't see the point in being able to eat the acid mushrooms at all. Since they removed the negative hydration from uncooked fish, this change made things a lot nicer too although it's still too much of a pain to get sustenance in survival, as has been mentioned in about 10 other threads now xD

+2 hunger -5 health would be counter productive. as far as i can see you use up more hunger when you are healing (might be wrong).
In any case, i.e. Lemons and Oranges are also aciding and they don't burn through your stomach ;P

Malkcontent is correct it would be counterproductive for that reason and frankly far from worth eating one

Then why allow the player to eat one anyway? Otherwise just let us eat everything in the game, even metal :P

Natural Selection? After enough restarts or reloads the player might figure out it's a bad idea... :P

Think I'll just leave this here...

If they are going to figure out it's a bad idea anyway, why not just take away the option to eat it and have it only used for making batteries? :)

There are many mushrooms on nature that people can eat without negative effect to the body. But it could be more fun having some eatables that uncooked could cause negitive effects (no health damage exclusively).

Just because it's acidic doesn't automatically mean it's inedible to humans, many fruits (lemons, pineapple, tomatoes) are highly acidic (and an intact pineapple looks quite unpalatable) but people can eat them without issue.

They have? When I played a few hours ago I still noticed a hydration penalty from uncooked fish.

Sorry, I thought they had but I realised this is only with Spadefish (which is why I usually try to get to the red grass and catch a bunch of them) :)

The change I meant was the airsack fish now allowing us to create basic water without any other ingredients, this is what helped a lot with hydration.

Raw kelp also helps with hydration and food some, making it an easy way to quickly fill the bars before setting out for deeper waters, so by comparison the acid mushrooms aren't any more imbalancing/useful as a food resource.

I don't see a gain in gameplay by changing it. Right now, they're the trail mix of Subnautica, and I'm content as such. Maybe I'd be on board for it being unnecessary, if salt was significantly more common. I'd prefer that regardless, but as it stands, the game doesn't start 'till I've stuffed my gut full of shrooms.
