Sweet base addition!

The UWE team is really going full steam with base viewing window options (customization options = awesome! - Lots of ocean viewing options = awesome!). Glass viewing corridors are now up on sketchfab https://sketchfab.com/models/093ea7c2b6874153bd70fb9e232ed80e

This is listed on twitter as being "potential". I personally like the one with the single support ring mid corridor but (without actually seeing them in game yet) I think both are great. What do you guys think?

Throw in a, generic use, dome room sometime in the near future and I think that would very much satisfy on base building fun for a good while until specialized rooms can be worked on later.

Very much agree, that's pretty much what I want for an observation room. Though a 2x2 room instead of a 1x2 corridor in the future would be nice, this would go a long way.

The top one is my favorite. I want to see the ocean!!! Also, Seamoth needs more glass too.

Both would be a great addition, the lower one can also house a hatch or, with slight modification, serve as a T or X section. Would be nice to have glass L sections too.

As I understand it from one of the videos on Subnautica I've watched, adding windows to your base lowers the structural strength, leading to easier pressure damage the farther down you build it. If this is definitely the case then these glass corridors would only be usable in very shallow depths I would think.

There's another thread where I've already posted this suggestion, but in hopes that it is seen and at least thought about here we go again hehe (sorry about that if I'm breaking your rules, I just think it's a good idea :-P)

So my idea is that since people want domes, why don't we take away the question of the structural integrity from having a dome made out of glass and instead either keep it filled with water when we build it, or fill it with water when it's done, however you would do it. Granted you wouldn't be able to put things in there that would require to be dry, but you could build an enclosed ecosystem so that you could make a garden (artificial coral reef) wherever you build your base, thus keeping yourself well fed once you can get it started (and maybe keep it maintained as well?).

I don't know, I think it's a good idea haha, and I'd love to see something of the sort implemented in the game, that is to say that I haven't bought the game yet, am *super* excited to own it shortly and yeah, I haven't seen many food nodes around on the YouTube videos is another reason for my suggestion.

Something that would be cool to see eventually would be the removal of health regen as something you start with in place of a med-bay where you can heal yourself up and use local resources to create a med-kit of sorts to use on adventures. Anything that makes the base something more than a place to house the fabricator and store things would be awesome.

I think they will introduce health management eventually. Health regeneration is here probably as a temporary solution since there are lots of things to do and UW is a small team. There is also first aid locker in the life pod that makes me think one day in the future healing will be implemented.

If there is an option to build glass corridors from reinforced glass (like the one we used to build Cyclops) then it would be possible to build them much deeper.

This is very good idea. I would like to see some kind of food production facility soon. That way we can stop with tedious fish catching and salt collecting. I find myself spending more time chasing fish then doing anything else.

I think the best way to have glass structure would be to have the possibility to enhance the basic model by making research on materials of the planet (from any source). This way, the basic window can become window MK 2 (3, etc), and also we can unlock new models (like the spherical, observatory, etc) for the glass materials (and same eventually for others different parts of sub-base, and even for all the blueprints we find/research).
