finding survivors and making a colony

I think it would be awesome to find survivors from the crash site and get them back to a colony u made and they can have simple jobs like collecting food an repairing the habitats and getting resources like MC villagers only more developed ... maybe even make a few "special" ones that have a personalty and extra dialog options ... a doctor a scientist a marine ...etc would rly bring the game to life

i know what u mean... but this can pretty much ruin the experience really quick when not done right! think about this: NPC can feel pretty quick like robots, other than animals we know alot on human expressions ans behavior. to make a NPC feel alive it would requiere a ton of animations and possible interactions to make them believable!

i personaly think the game would benefit more from a wider ranger of interactions between the player and the animals and environment! having NPCs would kill the lone survivor mood and setting of SN! which is great plus atleast for me (any many others too ^^)

BUT and this is something i can imagine pretty well, is something like a robot NPC, like a personal assistant and pet alike! with a cute robot voice scuttling around ur cyclops or seabase talking at random stuff like creatures close by or things u are doin! than it would not disturb when he feels like a robot 'cause he is! ;)

That would completely change the focus of the game from exploration and interaction with your environment to an awkward city sim. I really don't think they should go down that route, it'd come off cheap, and also make the whole "Alone in the world" experience gone. Other ways for self-sustainability, such as facilities and robots would suffice, but introducing more human NPCs and being able to interact and have to care for them I feel would make the game less focused and more fluff.

no its just an "optional" thing nothing really game changing you will explore and do everything you want, you just have an option to have some NPCs in your base or big subs ... they would be very basic nothing SIM like or anything

Perhaps instead of finding live survivors, maybe find sunken life pods from previous missions by other people, then, going back to my idea of finding Holo-projectors on the Aurora that give little pieces of back story when played.

Perhaps these could be personal journals by these other people, which did not survive.

While I'd like the idea of NPCs if the focus of the game were different, or it were a slightly different type of game, just having an NPC with generic lines of dialog standing in your base would be pretty bland IMO. Even if you could have a chain of commands to give them, like "go find food" or "go collect minerals" it's just, eh.

Remember, the story as of right now is that humans are colonizing other planets, but that doesn't mean they are successful all the time.

as i mentioned before: i would prefer not to have NPCs at all compared to have some poorly made ones! btw the intro states u are the only lifepod that escaped the explosion...

this idea seems far more fitting considering the story and gameplay of SN!

That's why you tame the local fauna. Maybe one or two would even follow you everywhere you go.
