Good intention but I don't think neither Ghoul (pregame+ mod creator) or CDT will ever implement it. But I would glad to race with you though if you are good enough

I've recently released Laps, which is similar (and still evolving, from a design standpoint) to the first idea in this thread's first post (which, remarkably, I've only just now read).
From the announcement thread:
[Laps is a] solo time trials experience [which] tracks and displays (on the TGNS Portal) the lowest total times in which we all complete various tracks throughout all of the stock NS2 maps.
Laps has 40 tracks which any TGNS player can run any time there's no gameplay in progress.
Laps is part of the TGNS mod. I won't be releasing it elsewhere, but anyone may take the Laps Lua code and copy/mature it as they wish, and I'm happy to answer questions of anyone attempting same.
I had no intention of announcing it here, but I mention it in case it's helpful to OP or anyone else reading this thread.
Why is this being worked on, yet a gorge waterslide map still does not exist.
I saw a semi-finished map with a huge secretroom with a big slide-tower being playtested (i think stream from @vindaloo?). Gorges seemed to have fun there.
