Sound Problems

<div class="IPBDescription">Extreme lag when sound is enabled</div> I get terrible lag when my sound card is on, but when I disable it in the Device Manager, I get none. I realize I have a kind of crappy sound card (OnBoard SiS) but the rest of my system is more than fine to play this game (1.4 TBird 512MB GF2 323MB Cable modem). The sound is fine in other mods.

The sound is fine games that are much newer than Half-Life, like Soldier of Fortune 2. I've tried using low quality sounds (hisound 0) and loadas8bit, but neither help. Anyone got ideas for me? Thanks in advance...

Try re-enabling your hardware-based sound in the NS sound config menu.

Problems I've had...
Using original on cd-rom drivers for the Audigy's EAX, I experienced mouse/keyboard lag when EAX was turned off. When I turned it on, it worked fine, but when I got under water and out, the echo would stay on.

My solution to all above was to get the latest drivers from Your sound card(board,etc)'s website.

Update. Think like a comm.
