I Feel Sorry For Commanders...

...not appreciated enough
I can't tell you how many times I've been commander and have been kicked. It's really annoying. There are so many players that want instant satisfaction and then just boot you if you don't give it to them.
"I need HMG!"
"I need a welder"
"OMFG commander! I've been asking for health for the past 30 seconds!"
etc.
I tell my marines to stick together...never happens. What happens is 10 players doing their own thing barking requests and it's just damn impossible to satisfy them all. I've had games with competant marines that actually stick together and follow orders and work as a team...that's about 10% of the time though.
What I ask of EVERYONE is to be more understanding and patient with your commanders!
We can't do 10 things at once, but damn, we try.
Stop asking for a shotgun every 5 seconds and refuse to leave base without one.
Stop spamming requests for health.
Stop asking for ultra expensive gear, then going out Rambo style to take on 3 fades on your own.
Team work is where it's at in this game. Stick together, live together. Stay apart, and succumb to an untimely death.
I was kicked today 5 minutes into a game because my "team" thought it important to secure a resource nozzle with a turret factory and turrets. It was my opinion that it would have cost too much time/resources and instead we should be focused on claiming a hive location. I see in teamchat:
"Kick him? He's not doing anything"
"Yeah get someone else in there that can command"
*THE COMMANDER HAS BEEN EJECTED*
Little did they realize I was getting ready to send them to a waypoint, and was scanning some hive locations for activity.
If your commander doesn't satisfy your every whim immediately, it's probably for a good reason!
Be more tolerant of your commanders. You may see he isn't some "n00b" without a clue, but some master strategist just waiting to unfold his grand plan of alien domination.
Take the Hot-Seat yourself and see what it's like! You'll be surprised...it's quite taxing.
These days I mostly play aliens...and win...marines is just too much work...

Did you TELL them this? Commander / marine communication is critical.
Most of the time I dotn see player sbitching for stuff if there is a good commander.. and no I dont just mean giving out health packs and HMGS.... If the players all run off aloen there is a problem though, do you only play on one server?
commanders dont get enough credit because the marins dotn always say thank you, or "good job" to the commander. However I find gorges get even less credit..., no one say's good job with defending chambers" or "nice job geting up hives" it's almost always "why dont we have all hvies yet, get movement!"
I am no the greatest gorge, but I do everything fine.... you dont need 2 hives in the first 5 minutes of a game, espicially with 1 gorge
Oh and commander, when I get to a hive and ask you to secure it. I mean then and there if you have the resources. Not drop the turret factory five minutes later when three skulks appear to kill me.
I'd suggest hopping around the map to check on all the green dots when you aren't doing anything or when you're saving for something.
And when people ask for health or ammo and don't use the the right-click voice commands (allowing commanders to press space and move right to them), just ask where they are.
I must say though, voting a commander off should take at LEAST 50% vote. It was originally 30%, although I think 1.02 made it 40%.
