Hey Guys of development and all players from Subnautica,

here is my idea (sorry for bad english )

My favorit desire is, to discover archeologic structures and ruins of past civilizations in the game, to find special technology for the base or the ship/submarine

How does that sound for the development and the players ?

That would be cool if we found ruins on the floater and underwater islands or in the grand reef. Then we can find fragments for weapons these civilizations used to hunt reapers and other creatures, or we'd find new vehicle fragments that we can use. Of course since this is alien tech our fragment analyzer won't be strong enough to scan them. Then we'd have to take the fragments to an analyzer room on the Aurora to get the blueprint

yes that makes the game in a special direction, so we can search alien artifacs were can use for pushing the stats of charater maybe like swimpower over time or to find alien suits. but the really interesting thing is to search this under the ground =) so you have to excavate the sand to expose the structures

    eh, I dunno.
Finding ruins of a dead race of aliens/people seems so played out these days.
Let us actually find the people, living in seaweed huts and herding gasopods.
Less ancient romans, more native americans.

Plus, what happened to the civilization that built the ruins?

Good to read a critical opinion . So you want to say so that it is more beautiful a planet at the beginning of evolution to explore ( +/- ) . Personally, I like to discover the past and find out why it has passed . This could a history forms, such as Waterworld from Kevin Costner ... Rising sea by melting of the poles could be the best reason why civilization has perished . My suggestion is optional and should not be developed in the Focus also . Explore , develop and survive is Subnautica .... at least you can then explain why Safes with blueprints on the ground lying around ... best regards from Tyronidas

The only problem I have with the melting of the poles part is that we will have arctic zones which I'm assuming will be pretty huge with icebergs and maybe tundra on land to explore so I don't know. It still could work but it wouldn't sit well with me

We go here by a process of which has already taken place . Subnautica plays yes on a pure water planet . 99% playing underwater, the rest is not worth mentioning. I can not imagine that the developers implement walkable country unless there are extensive caves which are not underwater . but how 04leonhardt already said it is determined to meet interesting custom civilizations . Trade and various interactions with NPC in vast underwater settlements would be an interesting aspect for sure .

If NPCs are what you want, I can tell you that a lot of people do not share the sentiment.

Though I personally am all for underwater Native Americans.
Have em teach us how to grow sea corn.

not really. How topic suggests, for me it's much more interesting past under the sand to bring forth

I think what Tyronidas is saying is that it's more interesting if we get to explore the world in the now, but we also get to piece together and explore the past by finding old relics or ruins or something like that.

I'd post pictures of evidence of a previous short stride bi-pedal race, but this forum will not let me drag in a picture. Although I can do it in general discussion. They are carved steps in a small valley east of the shallows. These are steps, not naturally occurring formations. Steps carved into the rock face. This is in a green area with a little bit of creep vine in it. There are walking paths leading to cave entrances.
Coordinates are 106,-83,624. Look in that place and tell me that happened from natural occurrence.

There got it working thanks. There is more like this in the area.
