How to Get the Latest Build of Subnautica

Hi

I purchased Subnautica from Steam last week (not sure if it is available outside of Steam) and currently have build 21956 installed.

However, I have noticed that others have build 22167. How do I obtain a copy of this latest build? Should it not automatically be downloaded/update via the Steam platform? Why was a new build (22167) not announced? If it was announced, where and when was it announced?

Many thanks.

Steam will give you the latest stable build, no worries.

Many of us however run the experimental builds. You can get those by opting into the 'beta' downloads on subnautica's game menu. (rightclick in steamlist)
Note while it says beta, it really is not even close to beta. Subnautica itself is pretty much in (pre)alpha so its more a means to a end.

Of course experimental builds are just that. Anything can break at any time.
The ''normal' alpha builds are much more polished.

So are you saying that build 22167 is currently only available in experimental mode at the moment?

Yes, the experimental branch is updated daily, and breaks a lot. The main game is normally updated around once a week, and breaks much less often.
