So yeah, thought that was neat. Don't have to put my delicate electronic power supply on the dirty seafloor, or on a huge, obnoxious Foundation anymore.
Honestly the fact that I can't build them into the ceilings of corridors, like reinforcements and windows go into the walls, is a big disappointment to me. But this is nice!

If we did that, we would be forced to build near the surface. With the current system, you can build in a cave if you wanted, put the panels near the waters surface outside, then link them with the crystals. Your idea would work for the cyclops and seamoth though.

It's just so much more...clean than the straggling, every-which-way panels we have now.
You build a lovely base and then it looks like you dropped a deck of cards outside it.
And what's stopping you from connecting a shallow-water 'solar collection room' to your deep-water base?
Honestly, if you're building in the deep ocean, you should eventually be using thermal or bioreactor power rather then a daisy-chain solar system.

I would like it if the Solar Panels were like a straight attachment, like Reinforcements or Windows, so I didn't have to swim in place for 5 minutes trying to line them up evenly.

Well I agree they could be a little more aestheticly pleasing. All thr new power options are not done yet. I think they will make the solars better looking and more fitting of the look of the tech eventually.
i wish they would improve placement because that little blue area is annoyingly small. Thou a snap to grid building mode would be so nice for things like solar panels, lockers, and ect.

Great idea.
I can easily fit like 3
