The bioreactor is a power generation unit for the base but it has to be mounted outside. The accumulator is a power storage device that the devs are currently working on.
Thor, I agree with you, to a point. I would use the cyclops more often if the power requirements were handled. I would use it for a resource hauler. I would use it as a deep sea explorer and transport as it will be able to go deeper then the moth. What I want is a power supply that isnt made of batteries. Either rechargeable batteries, or charge via solar power. The cyclops needs to have more then four upgrade slots, being a larger, more versatile craft. Six slots would be more fitting. That way you can have a solar upgrade, and still have enough slots to get down deep, and some utility upgrades. There needs to be more reliable power sources for the cyclops. Do you really want to worry about power cells at 3000 meters? Solar will not be possible at that depth, and how much power will it take to descend to that depth, have power to explore, then return to the surface. Or I guess I could spend ridiculous amounts of time and resources making a pile of power cells so I dont get stranded in the black depths.
The power issue is exactly what I was just trying to get resolved by suggesting that the bioreactor be allowed to be mounted inside the bases and Cyclops to let you "farm" the supplies that are needed to run it. Then you can also have the accumulators to expand the amount of stored power by letting you mount another 4-6 power cells per accumulator. This would be the easiest way for the devs to solve the power issue and it would also give us something else to fill out the empty space in both the bases and the Cyclops while making the power maintenance of the bases safer in the more dangerous areas.
