It´s already a great game you are coding here. Thanks for that. Some things are still missing of course. Here´s my personal suggestions on whats missing. Sorry if some or all have already been suggested. I can´t read all the forum to see what has already been suggested. So, if I am asked, here´s my list:
- Solar for the Cyclops, maybe also some active defense, as in the recent Seamoth update. Preferably solar that only works when rising to the water surface. That would give me a real "submarine-feeling" if I had to go up every now and then.
- A MAP! Preferably one where I can mark points of interest. Not neccessarily one which shows my position on it (Showing fog of war and biomes only). That preserves the explorational feeling. But in any situation if I just had a piece of paper I had a map for sure.
- A compass. (As I watch the sun, the Aurora is actually north of my spawn point. Not northeast, really north. This, or I´m already sea-sick) Seriously, a craftable compass for the ui was great for deep water environment without sun. Maybe one I can show/hide.
- Aurora survivors I can rescue and get to a base.
- An online multiplayer mode which would be even better. IF, and only IF it stays absolutely non-pvp. Im so sick of cheating, hacking, flying and aimbot-wielding kiddies that have ruined every single multiplayer-survival game during the last years. There was still a way to be found do deal with griefers. Private, password-secured hosting or something.
- As we are at it, I would like to extend the day-and-night-circle to maybe double in my games. Maybe server-specific or just as an options menu.
- Killable predators (the big ones) which do respawn, but do so very slowly. Maybe one a day per biome, up to the set maximum. Whoever doesn´t want these killed can still choose not to. But as long as they´re attacking me, I´d choose to have a harpoon. Maybe a menu option for that.
- I would really, really like to choose what vehicles/bases/beacons are shown in the UI. I tend to set beacons on new bases (like outposts) to find them back later. Then there´s things like multiple Seamoths etc. This can get my UI pretty crowded. It really sucks. Keeps me from really using the (otherwise cool) beacons to mark awesome caves etc.
- Underwater-food-farming!!!1 (Algae?)
- Maybe also breedable fishtanks for inside the base. Yeah, how about just using the existing Aquarium and add a fish per day as long as there´s at least two of the same species inside?
I think that´s it for me. Nice work on the quartz-glass-ratio-change btw. Before this I ended up farming quartz more than anything else. Oh and there´s a bug showing the interior of the bases when driving inside the cyclops.
Thank you guys for bringing Jules Verne to my home

A map- a holoprojector with a map could be a cool device to have in a base or on a cyclops
Compass- already exists, crafted with magnetite
Aurora survivors- I don't think it's a good idea, they'd consume waay to much of dev time to be interesting
Online mode- they literally posted a status update on it on the main website a few days ago, check it out. Also, ofc there's not gonna be pvp, lol. It's a coop game if anything. MMO survivals are a completely diffrent kind of game
Longer day/night cycle- It would make waiting for crystals to show up a pain
Killable predators- There's actually a survey about lethal weapons on the forum, about 57% iirc in favour of having some sort of lethal weapons. However the devs don't want to introduce it, so they probably won't. Kind of a bummer, I just won't even try to explore the areas inhabited by reaper leviathans because I'm scared of dying, so it's taking away from my experience (whole biomes that I just can't explore, and there are more monsters coming
Ability to toggle chosen waypoints on and off would be great indeed
They have an early project of a farm in the backlog
Fish breeding- They probably could hook that up relatively easily, so maybe (but they probably won't be THAT efficient)
Oh I forgot one thing: ---> shutting down the Auroras reactor to get rid of the radioactivity. Don´t tell me this is also implemented already?
- I would like a map in the cyclops that's similar to the holo-table in Star Wars with the difference that it only shows a small area below the cyclops.
- A craftable compass that could be incorporated in a similar way to that of the thermometer would be nice.
- Survivors from the Aurora wouldn't really work. Besides technical difficulties, it's supposed to be something akin the man vs. nature. Though, I guess it could be give an RPG element once they bring out multiplayer where players could potentially talk/trade with them (waaaay in the future though).
- A multiplayer mode would be excellent. Though I agree that there is dreck in the gaming community in regards to cheaters/trolls/griefers, I believe some aspects of PVP should be allowed (if that's what the server is for).
- An option in the main menu to deal with day-night cycles would be nice. Though, I know there is a console command that currently does that.
- I'm pretty sure the devs don't want to make the game too violent and only have "weapons" that detour creatures (i.e. stasis rifle, vortex torpedos and hull protection zappy thing).
- I would like that too. Maybe they could alter the comman center thingy so that players can toggle beacons etc. on/off.
- Some sought of renewable food source is sorely needed in the game. I find that I just blaze through all the nearby food sources and things get difficult.
- I was thinking that too when they came out, but I think an upgrade to the tank would be needed in order for the creatures to breed.
It was. Just go there and head to the engine room with a welder.
Have you literally not played the game at all?
Yes, it's in the game.
It's the only actual goal right now.
You have to swim around to the front, and climb up onto the wreckage and make your way inside.
Bring a welder.
It's a rather obscure goal really. I just happened to go there and try stuff out, but I can imagine people not noticing it at first.
