Mapping and researching of SubNautica

Hello
I love to work for my in game progress and to see that I accomplished something.
In Sub Nautica we are an explorer that crashed on a Planed that is unknown.
So I would like to explorer the world and see a progress in that. Not only swimming in circles and searching for materials. Finding a blueprint to unlock something and then finding the same blueprint again.
My vision is to build in the biomes research and mapping stations that need to be upgraded.

Lev1: needs a battery.

It only displays like a beacon the name of the biome it is located and its position on a really simple map.
But location display in first person only for like 60 seconds after being activated with the PDA.
If you have used a lot of beacons in the game the surroundings are full with texts marking the positions of seamoth / Cyclops and points of interest. It would be nice to be able to switch on and off what you want to locate right now.

Lev2 a data center: needs a power cell as energy source.

At first the database is empty. But if you pick up a resource like lithium, it will update the database that this can be found here. If you ever need lithium you can open the PDA and display where you have found it in the past.
Looking it up on the sub Nautica wiki is like cheating but to search for it in the wrong place for a lot of time is not fun.

Lev3 3D Mapping

You need to build a real power source like for a sea base. To start you will have to collect 1000 energy.
When charged it will scan the surrounding area and create a 3D model of the biome that you can view in a sea base on a holo table or an own room/module in the sea base.
After that you need to keep it charged with solar panels thermal generators and so on.
It should consume energy but not so much that it is a pain in the ass to keep them all running.
(holo map will not display locations of resources just a really cool looking map with information’s you collected of that biome).
It will be a player goal to complete his holo map of all the biomes and have a miniature model of the world.

If you have a Cyclops you don’t really need to build multiple bases as the Cyclops is a moving base.
So there is not a real need to build structures like thermal generators or solar panels multiple times.

Here is a reason to collect resources to build that.
There are more things you could upgrade the research stations.

Like a bio module
that will analyses plants and animal in the biome that you have scanned with some kind of hand scanner.
You could shoot a research needle on animals (Could be fun getting the info of a reaper) or mushroom trees that transmit the data to the station.
After some time it finishes and updates an in game wiki.
Maybe unlock or upgrade technologies with that new knowledge.(not a fragment for everything)
Like a energy fish bar that will keep you longer from getting hungry. For it you have to mix Fish A+B+C and some rubber for the package (conservation)
That would animate player to catch other fish to.

Adding a storage box to the station.
You arrived with you sea glider / seamoth, collected more resources then you needed. Place them in the storage box in your research station and the next time your there with you Cyclops you take it with you

Fish Farm
With enough knowledge you could create a fish farm for Airsack and Peeper.
In the beginning when you start with nothing the game is about surviving but later collecting food and water especially food is getting irritating. But I don’t want to start without it as it is part of the excitement at the start. The fish farm could create the fish bars that you collect from time to time.
It could be a challenge to create the fish farm but after that the reward is lesser work in collecting food.

If something like the research station is implemented, it would be nice if the developers dictate the position where they can be build in the Biomes. That way it will be more of a challenge to build it as you cannot search for the easiest place but have to somehow provide the energy or build it in 300m depth. It also would be easy to create quest around these research station.
Like you upgrade the station to Lev3 and the energy discharge of the scanning triggers a volcano eruption …..
