Interesting Events

I'd like to see some more focus on interesting/unusual events for the player to experience. Players would either stumble across them or SN could entice the player to them with something (e.g. unusual activity/breadcrumbs, existing "signal" technology, etc). Being there for certain events could be helpful to the player (new tech, resources, species, backstory information), while other events would be just entertaining or maybe even dangerous.

Hopefully, how the player reacts to the event (e.g. approaching, watching from a distance, trying to help, attacking) could help to determine the outcome to some extent.

Some ideas (just to give you an idea):
- Hatching of an egg
- Reefback mating "dance" ritual
- Geothermal explosion (underwater volcano)
- Wounded reaper
- Stalker eating at a component of the Aurora
- Cave collapse (perhaps revealing a deposit of minerals)
- Meteor shower
- Spawning of floaters
- Undersea earthquake
- Pack of stalkers fighting with a reaper over some food

P.S. The best current "event" in the game is the exploding of the Aurora, which is on a much grander scale than these. But they do capture the attention and imagination of the player, and that is what I'd like to see more of.

Mass migrations of fish would make an interesting event.

An earthquake that broke up the Aurora more, making for multiple explorable sections at different sea levels and above. This would be cool, especially if it led to a bunch of new tech that expanded gameplay.

Wandering groups of nocturnal creatures that are attracted by lights and sounds. Their approach signaled by ticking type vocalizations which alert you to turn all the lights in your base or submarine off and stay very, very still, hoping they didn't notice you.

If they didn't, phew! Continue your adventuring whilst feeling relieved.

But if they did, wham! They savage your structure or vessel and do some pretty hefty damage, possibly even breaking through and attacking you should your defenses be insufficient.

This sort of event should be fairly rare in frequency so that one isn't forced to do absolutely nothing all night, every other night. Maybe the warning noises can be heard faintly during the day to give warning that tonight will be a Swarm night.

I'm thinking this type of event could be triggered by an in-game action like making a lot of noise in front of deep cave systems, awakening a hive of Swarmers. Once you wake them up the first time Swarm nights just happen occasionally, but can still be triggered by waking up hives in various deep caves.
