OK, ill delve into what you guys have said and report back any findings. But I think during the massive update process when windows 7 was bare bones, some of the updates may have been installed but someone dysfunctional or something. Great idea Jim, wish I thought of that earlier.
I've now switched to and edited the high performance option in power options, lets see what this does. Rumor is it might help.
As for event viewer, There is a !Error with 'Application Hang' for it:
The program ns2.exe version 0.0.0.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel.
Process ID: 1660

Nothing after that for 3 minutes, then theres 2 DNS Client Events with just a Warning. Nothing after that for 30 mins as I had shut off the desktop and left for a bit, then started up again around that time.
I'm also seeing lots of Kernal-EventTracing and Kernal-Processor-Power !Errors. From what I have found, they are pretty much harmless and useless.
Ok well now we know for sure your ns2.exe is crashing by itself and not being caused by another factor, is it ONLY ns2 that crashes for you? can you load up and play another cpu/gpu/memory intensive game for a good 10 - 15 minutes?
Yep. Easily. I even stressed tested the 780 ti to 75 Degrees for like 5-10 mins and no crash, worked brilliantly. Well, I just played for 30 mins without any crash. Like I said, all i've done is change from balanced to high performance in power options. But, the server I was playing on was also not running NS2+. Archie who was on the server at the time said it could be an NS2+ related thing, he gets crashes from that apparently. Either way, ill try an NS2+ server tomorrow and see what happens now. I've got no mods running at all, none subscribed to.

Yup, next process of elimination is if its a mod thats causing the problem or not, recommend joining a server that is vanilla or does not include NS2+ mod, then you can tick it off your list of possible causes.
Well, Ive had NS2 running on the main menu for half an hour and no crash. Still going. Normally it wouldnt crashed 10-15 mins ago. I think it may have been that balanced power option which screwed me over. Weird
Perhaps at max or very high gpu usage (90% +) my 780 Ti wasn't getting enough juice or power was being limited due to the balanced power options, not sure
If you still have issues after that try to also turn the 'PCI Express -> Link state power management -> Off' I did that a while ago and since then no more driver crashes from nvidia, and for a friend of mine if fixed wierd stutter issues.

Until we can find out exactly whats causing the crash we can't help.

Well, finally we are back in business!
