Has anyone played on this server before? This server quite possibly has the most "power trip" admin I've ever seen, and not just in NS2, but in any game I've ever played. His in-game alias is *removed nickname* or something.

Today was the first time I played on his server and he booted me off the game 3x for the following reasons:

1. Apparently he was talking to me on mic and I didn't respond to him in time because I was busy killing aliens, kicked
2. My alias was Negger as in Arnold Schwarzenegger, he said it sounds too similar to the n-word, kicked
3. I said in teamchat "12 min PG and no SG, lol" and he said I'm not allowed to laugh at other people who aren't as skilled, kicked

The 3rd time I was booted from the game, he said I must follow his rules if I don't want to be booted again. I said "No thanks, I'll play somewhere else" and left. Following that fiasco, I msg'd a bunch of people on my steam friend list and apparently they've all experienced the same shit on his server. I'm going to take a wild guess here that the guy is a total loser in real life and suffers Napoleon syndrome therefore he's trying to compensate himself in an online indie game.

I play on Tactical Gamer's server quite a lot. It's one of the most friendly, best seeded servers out there. Games played are generally very balanced, and a joy to play.

Yes, when you first join, you'll be asked to respond in chat as to whether you can hear the voice chat. This is so that you can effectively contribute to your team's strategy. It takes 0.2 seconds to hit Enter > Y > Enter, no amount of "killing aliens" will stop you from spending that little time being courteous. Maybe if you were responding to the Commander/Admin, instead of just running about "killing aliens", you would have contributed to your teams' play and been a more useful asset.

I would kick someone using the alias "Negger" too. That's not a funny play on words, and you can give excuses for it all you want. We all know why you chose it, when "Arnie" would suffice, would get your point across better, and would not be borderline-offensive.

I'm no way affiliated with Tactical Gamers, I'm just a pub. player who enjoys a good game on a good server, and will defend an NS2 Admin's right to running servers like these without being subject to idiocy and rudeness. You might want to try a rookie server, preferably one where the players speak a foreign language to you, so you can go about your business "killing aliens" without thinking of your team, and without the other players being able to understand your flames in the chat.

This is kinda borderline naming and shaming, which goes against our forum policies and an anecdotal post at best. The fact is that owners or admins of a server can run a server any which way they like, because it is their property and it's not a democracy unless they want to run it as such. If you want to voice your concerns, you'd have to contact the server owner, because this forum is not the place for this...

In other words, we now have two anecdotal posts which contradict each other... I'll leave it at that and slap a lock on this. Threads like this tend to go the flame route instead of discussion. Mostly because there is nothing to discuss other then "try and find another server" / "I don't/do experience that" / "flame on"

1. Ignored the multiple prompts / messages about server rules and proceeded to ignore the admins over voice and text
2. Used a name you know damn well is borderline racist
3. Ridiculed your teammates after 1. and 2.

Not surprised you were kicked.
As with any server or user specific issue you can take it to them instead.
