Multiplayer.. ?

You guys have probaly heard this a lot, but I really would like to know.. This is an awesome game, but I'd like to know when multiplayer will be added to the game. I know that you have to finish the game before you're implementing it, but I'd like to know if it will take years or months to add multiplayer.
