Alternative sources / farming proccedures to preserve the ecosystem

As most of you know, some crafting recepies require plants of the sea (corals, creepvine, acid mushrooms etc.).
The sources of theese materials aren't infinite and slowly but steady the player destroys the flora to fabricate batteries, chlor, aid kits, bencol, lubricant and microchips.
If this continues, the player will be in an almoast dead world, searching for the last existing hint of the previous existed flora.

To solve this problem, I present two solutions.

1) Mecanical solution:

I. The player researches the blueprint of an device that regrows the flora(planter).
II. The player researches the blueprint of an device that filtrates the needed compunds out of the water, sand or other materials(like the water filtration).

2) Coding solution:

I. Rewrite the code of large plantstructures(creepvine, coral tubes etc.) in a way that these plants won't be destoyed aka won't despawn because they are too big for the player to comepleatly destroy them.

II. Rewrite the code of all plants to respawn like materials.
Here, the coder has to watch out, that the plant's won't be spawned in an diffrent arrangement when the chunk is loaded again.
