Should the crafting recipe of underwater flares get edited?

At the moment, flares are crafted with Crash Powder.
This recource is hard to farm without getting damage and for the usage of flares not well chosen.
Crashs do explode, yet an with Crash Powder crafted flare won't.
In real life, underwater flares are usually out of Magnesium.
My question is:
Should subnautica's underwater flares only be crafted with Crash Powder, Magnesium or an combination of these two components?
