Co-op Ideas

There is no doubt that Co-op is something that the devs would be working on or at least thinking about. But when i thought about this i realised(Aussie spelling XD) that there are only 2 seats in the escape pod an Co-op/Multiplayer would consist of 2-6 players. This is why i was thinking that every time a new player joins they should join the game by being ejected from the wreckage of the Aurora in a new escape pod with all the same start-up gear the player gets when a new world in created. I also thought that the difficulty (i.e. number of spawned mobs; Hostile, Peaceful, etc.) of the game should increase or decrease depending on the number of players that have joined.

At this point i would add a pole but i am new to the website an i am unaware how to do so. Please leave any feedback on the topic.

    NO, no Co-Op, I want full on server based multiplayer, This game is already amazing and its got hardly anything in it I can only imagine how amazing it would be to play it on a server with 10-20 other people all making their own bases, fighting over resources, teaming up to fight the giants of the deep, games are better shared, ALWAYS!.

    No the idea of Lukamic is very good. I don't want a server with 20 players. 2-6 players are the best

    Server's gives us both options as player numbers can be set in server configs, you getting co-op means people like me cant get servers, if we get servers you still get your co-op play style.

    Why not both? A coop mode AND a server mode. One for smaller groups who want to start at the same time, and one for people To join and 'jump ship' at will, but with a different entry mode to make it more compatible with such a large number.

    Like, say, a penal colony ship that drops a bunch of convicts on a water planet to see if it's viable for terraforming or not, and leave them to figure it out while other ships, like the Aurora, go to 'confirmed' planets instead.

    Taiphoz, I did think about a full multiplayer option but the only issue there is that then the game would have to render everything with the new H2.O update but would then need to keep track of 2-20 other players, if all players happened to build at the same time or were all far away it load would be too much for the game. It would just be too difficult for the game to render all of the players locations, buildings, vehicles, and player models. I'm not saying i don't want full multiplayer, but i'm saying that it would be too hard for the game to handle. But if they found a way around that issue, i really like Sildrae's idea, different stories for both different modes of multiplayer.
