A game ending?

This is just an idea, so hear me out. By completing the game it doesn't actually end, you can still play, but you get a sense of closure, and quite a bit of help continuing the game, and possibly a whole 'nother more peaceful soundtrack symbolizing that the game has been beaten.

What you have to do
Gather your best gear and go to the deepest part of the ocean you can find, to a sunken ship much like the one you crashed in. Beat the monster inside the ship and collect the item it drops, then using some of your resources craft a "makeshift engine" that will get the aurora started again and give you permission to a large handful of resources and a completely new "fresh" start. Okay with the idea so far? Keep reading for more details.

New area
It is actually located deep underground, right below the aurora. If you dig deep enough, you'll end up in an underground cavern near a sunken ship that very closely resembles the aurora. Inside the ship are a handful of the toughest monsters in the game, and in the main chamber room (it's really big, by the way) you can find the boss monster.

Sentient CyCrab
Sounds like a name you'd get from the pikmin series, and actually, I'm very open, and even insist that you suggest a better name for this creature. I'm the main chamber of the sunken ship, A giant lobster wearing cyborg equipment is found. It is about the same size as the Emperor Leviathan, but maybe slightly smaller. The Lobster has many eyes, some of which are robotic. The area around the lobster is so dark and large, it may be hard to find and it could sneak up on you. This creature swings its giant claws at you, and moves fairly (but no too) fast sideways and horizontally around the room. The creature's mouth will occasionally move, and a large broken speaker crudely tied to its back with wire will produce static, and occasionally murmur garbled and hard to understand word like "no" or "stop" in a unenthusiastic synthetic voice. when i say "cyborg" I mean half covered in monitor screens, metal, and broken engines and such. The fight takes place in the dark with a large crack in the ceiling to let through a small amount of light. It's kind've a creepy fight, due to the lobsters appearance, it's helpless synthetic voice occasionally begging for help, and the dark. When it is killed, the speaker lets out a loud screech, and the creature rams itself into the ceiling once, widening the crack and letting through more light, before gently gliding to the floor and dying. Once killed, you can take it's speaker, which fills more than half of your inventory.

Makeshift Engine
Using a bunch of silver, titanium, quarts, diamonds and your new "massive speaker" item, you can craft a makeshift engine, which can be installed into the aurora. By installing the makeshift engine, part of the wall in the aurora folds out into the water, giving you an area to stand that is twice as large as the standard pod in which you spawn. On the platform are all the basic crafting machines, storage items, and a storage area with a ton of every resource in game (well, not every resource.) there is also a console on the far side of the platform, and if you click on it, it gives you the option to make a "fresh start" which takes you to a new world, but still with everything you had in your inventory and on the aurora platform. This does waste your battery though, and the platform will fold back into the aurora and spit you out inside another pod with a handful of all basic resources, allowing you to replay the game with a good start; everything that was in your inventory before you left.

mmmm... that ending is highly controversial. Reportedly, they have already developed a (secret) storyline, and your ending might not fit into it at all.

I love: the idea of additional peaceful soundtracks once you "beat the game" but keep playing

I like: the idea of a cavern under the aurora.
I like: the idea that when you do "beat the game," you get something that makes building/exploring easier.
I like: the idea of an end creature/boss that is surprising.

I don't know how I feel about a cyborg creature.

Personally, I don't like: the pod at the end with the storage area with "a ton of every resource in the game". that makes no logical sense to me. Why? who would have set that up?

I'm confused about: how a giant speaker somehow fixes an engine...?

also: Mechrab? Lobstron? ... yeah it all feels very "pikmin"

keep posting your ideas, maybe one will stick :)
