So I've noticed there's a lack of shellfish in the game... here's my idea for a new food creature. I hope you guys like this one too! =)

Disclaimer: I had a hard time with the art for this creature, but I might post it later on. Other artists out there are more than welcome to create their own version based on how I'll attempt to describe it here or when I get my own version out. Also, the name is subject for change as I couldn't think of anything a tad bit more interesting.

Lobe Lob

Attitude: Passive/Defensive

Biome(s): Anywhere where there is sand (under water below 20m), Caves

DNA: Scavenger

Comment: Food

Spawn Rarity: Uncommon

Lore Note: The Lobe Lob is a rather reclusive creature, making its home in any sandy banks or dark places it can find. Lobe Lobs only come out of hiding when they smell the corpse of a dead animal nearby (this includes cooked + dropped animals). Despite their oddly shaped figure, Lobe Lobs are deceptively fast swimmers when approached by would-be predators.

Behavior (RaYD): Lobe Lobs will often bury themselves in the sand (if there is any) only a few seconds after they spawn and will remain there until an animal corpse is nearby (after a short period of time), to which they will appear from their hovel and head strait for the corpse to feed. If left alone, the Lobe Lob will continue to devour the body until it disappears (forcing a despawn for the corpse [or possibly leaving bones behind which will despawn after 5 min.]) which may take awhile depending on how large the dead creature is and however many other Lobe Lobs there are in the area also feeding on the same corpse.

When buried in the sand, a Lobe Lob can be spotted by very subtle mounds in the sand OR the tiny bubbles that occasionally emanate from their hovel. This method isn't always the best way to find Lobe Lobs as when you try to dig into their hovels they will try to pinch you, dealing 5% of the player's health in damage if they succeed and either bury deeper into the sand or pop out and swim away swiftly. Leaving a distraction for them is the best option as they'll try to swim away instead of fight back if not in their hovel when engaged. Another possibility would be to create a "Lure Pot" and place a decomposing fish inside to trap anywhere from 4 - 8 Lobe Lobs. The trap itself will have it's own little beacon which can only be spotted from a certain distance (this method may not be possible due to how the current spawning system works).

Description: The Lobe Lob is about the size of a Reginald with 8 legs (4 on each side), an oval-shaped rippled and blue-striped-shelled body with 6 long antennae and 2 sets of pincers; the first set being large almost crescent-shaped pincers (about half the size of it's body) with a smaller set just below the first. Its eyes are found in front on small stalks (like a normal lobster) near the mouth area as well as on the larger segments of it's large pincers (one eye on each pincer and look like a squinted version of a Peeper or Oculus eye). From the main body is a five-segmented lobster-like armored and blue-striped tail with three tail fins on the end (the two outer fins a bit longer and slightly crescent-shaped while the middle one has an inverted v shape at the end). The eyes and stripes are slightly bioluminecent and can be spotted at night or in dark areas.

Size + Time Context for Consuming: These estimations are based on the context of 1 Lobe Lob present for eating a corpse until it despawns. Should more Lobe Lobs be present for a corpse, the amount of time taken to fully devour a corpse is decreased by 1% per-Lobe Lob. These estimations are NOT final and are subject to change.

Creatures between the size of a Holefish and a Rabbitray will take about 2 - 4 min.

Creatures between the size of a Boneshark and a Sandshark will take about 15 – 30 min.

Creatures the size of a Reaper Leviathan and larger will take about 2 – 3 hours.

Cooked “Flavor” Text: Though slightly rubbery, has a hinted flavor of salted butter.
