Boats and/or Hovercrafts?

So what do you guys think? Would it be fun to have a fast-moving boat or a hovercraft for surface transportation in Subnautica? I myself would be content with or without these being implemented, but I was curious to see what you guys thought. Would be nice to have a bit more vehicular variety. :P
As a side-note, it'd be interesting to see a use for the escape pod late-game if you could convert it into a hovercraft for mobile base surface transportation.
