There should be storms, from a simple shower you can collect water in, to hurricanes with high winds and powerful waves that can damage your base! And hurricanes can potentially grow to MASSIVE proportions on a planet that is all water except for a few islands. Maybe even after a big storm there's a lot of debris to collect, both in materials like uprooted quartz to dead fish.
