Optimization

The main thing I believe that Subnautica really needs is the options for graphics. Allowing users to optimize the graphics which in turn allows more players to be able to actually play the game without needing a required component to be able to enjoy the game.
-Option to change Terrain Texture Quality
-Option to change Water Quality
-Option to change Model Texture Quality
-Option to change Particle Quality
-Option to Enable/Disable Certain Effects (Bubbles, Smoke, Fire, Explosions)

Hope to see these added soon so more people are able to play without a powerful computer!

We can probably expect such options to come at a later date. Right now, the game is in alpha / early-alpha, so the Devs are busy working on content and core game features. Optimization is one of the last things they are really going to worry about.

Well truthfully optimization is rather important. I mean if you keep the main settings which requires specific things like a high end GPU. Then the more you add... the less people there will be who can actually play the game. Due to low FPS and Frequent crashes.

Important, yes, right now, not so much. The game is early access, they are in the business of finishing content and we are here to test that content. While I do want more people to be able to play the game, as it stands now, their main concern shouldn't be making the game playable by more people, but rather making the game playable at all. Later they can add more people by giving better graphics settings.

Yes early access but its better to have fresh opinions and feedback is it not? New people means the game can progress faster. Ever thought of that? Think about it instead of people who have been sending feedback since its release and know practically everything. What about those who are new to it? I mean they could find bugs and issues just by being curious and such. Which in turn. can help progress the development further.

They're doing well with players as it is, and honestly, it's time for some ppl to update their computers. This is 2016, they would be doing themselves a disservice designing a game for computers that are dated at least 3 - 4 years. They have already been very open previously when they upped the minimum requirements from x32 to x64, clearly showing intent to bring the best they've got to the table. So with this in mind and considering what was already said about the game's alpha state, if those options are to be included, it's probably a lot further down the road from where they're at right now.

My computer itself is about 1 or 2 years old. And it still has trouble running the game. I would really love to help out with feedback but... I cant even walk a few steps without crashing. I mean I have 8GB of memory and a high end CPU but. It still crashes without reason.

Do you have an AMD/ATI card? For me the issue was fixed in the latest experimental build (HD5870), but if you're on vanilla Subnautica you probably still have to use the command line to force DX9.0c. This thing of crashing after a few steps (10-15s ingame), was happening to me as well...

Add this in your "set launch options..." in Steam (properties of Subnautica/righclick)

Side note @YukariShinoki, could you change that signiture, it too large and also animating too much. I love that image, but it goes against the rules of the forums. images may not be larger than 24Kb and max res is 400x75
