Similarities between this and slime rancher?

Subnautica = Endless ocean
Slime rancher = Island in endless ocean
Sure, the creatures in slime rancher are a lot less hardcore than in subnautica, but our own planet can demonstrate things get REALLY weird underwater. My theory is they're on the opposite sides of the planet so they'll never meet.
Could just be that it's me noticing the similarities in two cartoony exploration games. In fact that's pretty much exactly what it is. But I like the idea.
(And I know the similarities weren't planned, but the devs should have a party together or something)
