Customizer player settings not being saved / reset after every game start

There is not much more to add to the title. Every time I start the game, the customize player settings are reset to default.
The Modify and Access flags of my options.xml are set to the time I quit the game, and permissions are not an issue:
Access: (0775/-rwxrwxr-x) Uid: ( 1000/ xxx) Gid: ( 1000/ xxx)
Access: 2016-02-16 23:58:39.070460338 +0100
Modify: 2016-02-16 23:58:38.242465089 +0100
Change: 2016-02-16 23:58:38.250465044 +0100

Whenever I exit the game gracefully (not by hacking 'quit' into the console), it takes about 30 seconds until the game really shuts down (This is new after the latest update). Afterwards the last lines of the log are:
[ 80.279] MainThread : Error: Attempted to load remote options from a file that does not exist.
[ 80.634] MainThread : Error: 1 memory leaks in 'ClientMisc' (76 bytes)
[ 80.634] MainThread : Error: 2 memory leaks in 'Client' (96 bytes)
[ 80.652] MainThread : Error: 2 memory leaks in 'Engine' (96 bytes)

I am not sure if both issues are connected, thou..

Your 2nd issue of hanging should no longer be occurring. Please check again today.
Those errors in the last lines of your log are entirely benign.

Would you please provide your techsupport.exe generated zip file?

@Saffron_baker Do any of your settings get saved? You might try deleting your options file.

Something I noticed a while back, specifically with DMD's servers' custom skins for donors. If you set something there and leave the server, it'll default to the standards on any other server. Idk if this is the issue here since it's specifically the mods on those servers, but i figured I'd mention it.

I changed some key binding, and that is being saved in the options file and does not get lost after a restart.

That will be most likely because the "Donor skin" replaces the default skin.

A small update: after fiddling around after my first post the skins stuck for a while, at least over 3 days. Then, without any apparent reason they got reset yesterday. It seems quite random...
