please change save screen

I have not played the game for long but have a couple of suggestions.
Number 1...when I play I have only 1 save option so I cannot go back to a previous save or even choose to re-open that save if I want to back up a bit in the game. I am currently exploring Aurora and it took a while to get there and find the entrance. I have saved the game a few times while exploring. However if I die, I go back to the escape pod which is a long way away, and it should default to the last save, as happens in all the other computer games I play!!!! PLEASE FIX THIS. As you know to get back to the save I have to exit the game and reload and that takes quite a long time.
Another suggestion : I have 6 oxygen tanks so can stay underwater for a while, but they each take up an inventory slot. How about saving all of the same items to 1 slot and numbering them. For example O2(6)....table coral(5), first aid kits(4). You get the idea, and my inventory would not fill up when I do not have the option to transfer items to storage.
It would also be very helpful if there was a permanent compass on the screen right from the beginning because I am having a lot of trouble getting anywhere and cannot find what I need to make one.
That's enough for now. Pretty fun game so far!

I think the lack of stacking items is very much a deliberate choice, to make you choose between survival items on your person and how much you can carry with you.

Also... Six tanks?! Jesus, you really don't need more than two or three!

About the saves; this is an open world survival game. There need to be consequences for you dying. There is no point in it being survival if you just reload a past save. Also the no stacking thing is deliberate because the game is already pushing boundaries of realism with how much you can currently carry. You would just be throwing realism out the window if you made things stack. Now, I do believe they will make equipslots for tanks, probably up to 2 since that is how many people use at most in real life.

I'll agree with the things Kyman201 and Dracon1023 said, this is a survival/exploration game. Having stackable items would basically invalidate the inventory management part of the game, in addition to being wholly unrealistic. I'll also say that any more than 3 tanks is massive overkill. 2 upgraded air-tanks provides nearly 3 minutes (2.75 minutes or 165 seconds) worth of oxygen, which is quite enough for most uses. Each additional tank is an extra 60 seconds worth, when upgraded to high-capacity.

Having 6 tanks would add up to 405 units of oxygen, or 6.75 minutes of air. But those six tanks are taking up 24 inventory slots, fully half of the player's 48 inventory slots. Seems like pretty massive overkill to me, if the goal is to go explore and collect items. Better to only carry 1, 2, or (maybe) 3 tanks to free up inventory space instead.

And the compass should stay a craftable item, makes a great reason to go looking for magnetite, given where the material is located.

While constructing my ILZ connector (see the Seabase Showcase) I needed to go to 4 upgraded air tanks... and the seaglide... and extra batteries... it really limited the amount of titanium I could carry down with me, but starting from 200m, and not having enough room for the Seamoth, and needing to reach depths of up to 1000m meant I actually needed that air - the final couple runs I got back to the seamoth with an uncomfortably small amount of air remaining.

Thanks for the feedback. I have not yet found the necessary fragments to build the upgrade module for O2 tanks and the reason I have all the air tanks is so I can explore without worrying about going somewhere to get air. I am just learning. I have to laugh about the references to "real life". It's a GAME. :)

It's a game meant to evoke a very specific feeling. Namely, a survival and resource gathering sense. The non-stacking items are meant to make you feel as though you're trapped and only have so much space on your person.

Honestly, you should probably build a Seamoth and use that as portable O2 for now. I've gotten to most of the biomes in Creative mode through only two Upgraded O2 tanks... And recently gave myself a third after finally running out of oxygen when getting lost in an Aurora Wreck Fragment in the grassy plains.

I built a seamoth and have just built the cyclops and am visiting the island to see if I can find some magnetite so I can try and make a compass. There certainly is a lot to do once you get a few resources collected, and I have built quite a few storage lockers!

Ah. You haven't found the Modification bench fragments? That's how you can build a High Capacity O2 tank.

I always have trouble finding the bench and moon pool fragments, I once went a full day (of playing) before I actively started hunted them down over about 3 hours....
