An ode to great Commanders!
Hello, you wont see me around these parts much cause Marines arent really my cup of tea....though I am playing them more and more. Rarely do I enjoy them and Ive only been commander 1 time. (Both are starting to grow on me) Anyways, We all know that a good commander is the most important element of the marines gameplay. In fact, if someone takes the chair at round start and doesnt drop an IP within the first.05 seconds of the game, they likely have vote kicks already. I started this post to commend a fellow soldier that bravely and responsibly took charge of the troops. I will likely add more as the days and weeks wear on, but so far there is only 1.

I want anyone who arrives from the dropship and sees Telepath at the helm, to have a great deal of releif and a greater deal of confidence that they are indeed, in good hands. We were on NS_Nancy. He was not a way point spammer, nor was he pushy, in fact he let his troops lead the strategy. One small squad ran off and almost immediately tried to lock down a hive, and were faced with a larger bit of Kahraa resistense than anticipated. Apparently, they wanted that hive as much as we did and Telepath led us to victory. As a result of the early firefight, we did very little expanding during that point of the game. The commander was thoughtfull to ration things like HMGs, grenade launchers and HA during those times when resources were low. Tactically locking down every choke point and resource node as soon as a squad arrived there. By the time we took our second hive, we had almost simultaneously locked down over 3/4 of the map in a relatively short timespan, and the kahraa was hard pressed to take back a single resource nozzle with the few surviving fades and level 1 attacks.

Needless to say we were victorious against a formidable team. The round before, teams were basically the same, exept I was on Aliens, and we stomped the marines quickly and viciously within about 30 minutes. So, its not like we faced an incompitent(sp?) alien team. One of the most fun games I have ever played, and I think I owe it all to Telepath and a team that wasnt overly demanding or whiney. Good Job to anyone who played that game!

Anyway, post the names of great commanders you have played under...they deserve to be commended!

There's a pretty good list on there so far, Voris is keeping a tally of votes.
