I thought I should be able to run the game fine with my current specs:

Processor: Intel i5 6500
RAM: 16GB DDR3L
Graphics Card: Nvidia Geforce GTX 750Ti
Mother Board: Asus H170 Plus D3

But I still get around 40 fps in game

    The 750 is a pretty low-end card, and NS2 is a demanding game. :(

    You should consider upgrading. :)

Eh, I had a 550 that ran the game fine maybe a couple of years back. Its probably his resolution or graphics settings.

Ambient Occlusion and Reflections and perhaps Shadows like to eat little graphics cards for lunch, start there and see how it goes :)

I only got a GTX 280 with 1Gb VRAM. I don't know how much your card has, but setting textures to medium did a good step for me besides the settings @Kouji_San mentioned earlier.

    HD5870 1Gb on an i5 2500K @ 4.5Ghz with 16Gb DDR3 1600

I'm using Medium, cause that is the recommended setting for 1GB VRam. But High doesn't have a huge impact for me. That HD5870 is slightly quicker though. However the Ambient occlusion is a monster for FPS loss in general. The other two are slightly less strainful on the system, but should give some FPS back

running the game on max with this rig? dude no wonder u got so few fps. actually the system requirements stated on steam etc are more like a joke. atleast if u r not @Me9a who says: "I consider 20 fps running".
try lower ur settings. depending on the fps u want to achieve u gotta test around a bit but keep in mind: depending on the map and player count on a server fps might still vary alot.

Well technically its not a lie. 20fps is running.
Id not call it playable, but it runs XD

What's your resolution? If you have it high, a 2gb card might struggle and lower your FPS by alot.

Having played ns2 for almost a year with a 750ti, it is not all that bad for ns2. I was able to maintain about 90 fps with an intel i5 at moderate settings.

Submit your techsupport.exe generated zip file for review and post a picture (f12 key by default) with r_stats turned on in the console (~ key) when you feel you have poor FPS.
