With the terraformer on the way out, we need proper scaffolding and external walkways/ladders!

I'll admit that I love the terraformer and will miss it greatly, not just for it's ability to shape the terrain but because it's literally the only way to build extensive above-ground structures, and I really like having towers jut out of the water so I can set up an observation deck with spotlights on top, and see my base from a distance, and stuff like that!

So what we need is some way to be able to actually build that now without terraforming our scaffolding. What I'd like to see is some sort of external structures that can be stacked on top of each other and "hooked" to other structures or to the ground. They wouldn't have to be complex - just simple platforms with or without the ability to attach a simple ladder, allowing me to build "walkways" around and above where I'm working and eventually climb to wherever the next level of construction is going to be.

They could also be useful for building walkways up cliffs and mountains and building a base on top of the mountain islands biome or something!

Actually, thinking about it, simply being able to attach ladders to the outside of existing structures would probably be enough for the construction bit, but walkways to make it real scaffolding would still be awesome.

    I like this idea.

I keep feeling like the vertical tubes at the very least should already have a ladder on the outside. I see tubes like that all around IRL and they always seem to have metal rungs welded to the outside probably used during the building of the structure, but probably mostly used for maintenance purposes.
