Creature Idea: Hunting Mimic Octopus

My idea is to add an unlockable enemy that begins to hunt the player around the map.
This creature can be unlocked as a result of a goal achieved (for example, following the acquisition of a particular blueprint)
and from that moment he would be hunting the player even in normally safe areas, thanks to its ability to adapt and camouflage.
I do not mean a camouflage limited to plants and shells, but also extended to animals of a different breed.

I developed this idea based on a shellfish, called Mimic Octopus (Thaumoctopus mimicus),
which is able to change color and take on the appearance of other marine animals to adapt to the environment in which it is located.

In this Youtube video, extract of a documentary, you can get a better idea of the animal I'm talking about and, therefore, of my idea.

Obviously the final version of the creature does not have to be an octopus.
I know that a creature like that is very difficult to achieve, and that probably this idea will be rejected,
but I'd still like to have your opinion on it.

Thanks for your attention.

A large octopus like creature that stalks you would be quite awesome indeed. It could copy the texture of the surface it's on and slowly slither towards the player. I'm not sure if it should be biome-restricted or not, but I think it's an awesome idea! Might be a b*tch to program though..

right now all predators (iirc) in the game loses interest in you if you can put a good distance between you and it. Im hoping any newly implemented predator would act the same
