Subnautica Rift (Steam)???

So I own Subnautica and would like to try it on my Rift (Consumer release, not DK1 or 2). Trouble is, when I click to "Play in VR" I get the res/detail popup window and then the game simply launches as normal. Any ideas on how I can get the game to work? ( All other Rift games play well. I do see Subnautica for sale in teh Rift store but I dont see a reason why the Steam version would not work).
