Nutrient Block Processor

I've been thinking of how the Nutrient Block is the best food item in the game, and was wondering if anyone else would agree on the idea of a processor that takes in fish/fruit/vegetables, and with time, turns said item(s?) into a Nutrient Block, at the cost of power and time, similar to the Water Filtration Machine in a way.

Hope I'm not littering the board with my lackluster ideas.

Has anyone tried scanning their nutrient block to see if they get any info on it, or if it opens up any new tech possibilities?

I tried, but even then I always enable the "AllBlueprints" cheat.

i do agree that being able to make nutrient bars for long expeditions outside would be awesome. Altho, the current bars (+75 food, does not degrade over time) seems pretty OP to me if we could make them at will. maybe if we were able to produce and less efficient version thatd be neat imo (maybe like a +30 to 40 food?)

perhaps we could do this with a cooking module for our base.... a small room where we can prep food and store some without it going to waste as fast as it does without it....
basically combining cured fish with some creepvine will give us a protein bar similar to the nutrient block.... or something along those lines.

A crafting recipe would be cool too.

This could be a nice mechanic to process fishes/vegetables into compact, but non watered food.

Farming is great and presently my seamoth battery seems to run down a bit faster than my hydration and hunger so eating some fruit when I get back to base works out nicely. I also have a few fruit trees on my cyclops.

But long-term I'm looking at that exo-suit and thinking how slow it must be and possibly designed for lengthy excursions. So having non-perishable food of some kind might be essential.

    +1 to OP

Would be nice if we could find a few nutrient bars in the chests as loot, instead of the med kits that we don't need now.
The Aurora should be full of long term storage food, if only we could find the galley.

Normally I'd agree, but a Cured Reginald gives you +44, +44 and +4 cooked, which would make them almost entirely useless if you're in a Reginald-rich location. I'd imagine the parts for the machine would be rare, and the materials required the same.

I hear they're making the explorable part of the Aurora bigger, and seeing as how they're making ladders specifically for the Aurora, I'd guess they're adding more rooms besides the dark matter drive room.
