No idea who she is, but it seems to me she may play some role in the story if she was the only character drawn alongside the male and female player characters.
That, or she's just modeling the suit here.

(For what it's worth, I'm a guy - but I enjoy playing from the feminine perspective a lot, since I live the rest of my life from the masculine perspective. Plus... the feminine physique is a lot more enjoyable to admire, when I'm putting in long hours into video games...)
The devs are going to give us the choice to play as a female character. I'm assuming thats what she looks like since she's beside the current character model.
The player female character is actually the lovely lady on the bottom right, her model is already complete and you can find it on sketchfab here.
I wouldn't mind taking her to a dinner with wine,just to hear her voice...

My guess? CTO Yu. Although we don't officially know Yu's gender, according to the Data Downloads, they have enough authority to change the passcode for the PRAWN bay, they seem fairly high up on Aurora's chain of command (they wouldn't challenge 2nd Officer Keen otherwise), and it seems that they're well-liked by most of Aurora's crew (their laid-back demeanor in their message to Hinkle suggests that Yu would be well-liked by the crew for their approachability). If Yu is indeed the woman in the lockers, then it's not hard to see why the crew would have a lot of photos of her.

I had taken a rest from SN in order to save it for release, I have keep up on the updates and started to play again after the Silent Running Update.
With more then 600 hours in game in about 6 months in 2016 I was getting burnt out.
I would like to see caricatures of the dev, to give them credit for the Great game, and add a face/faces to there product with there photos in the lockers, maybe adding an achievement if we find them all of them.

Well, that's assuming they're not going to give us the choice of multiple heads. It might be an alt - there's another male head there that looks younger and more fair-skinned than the current male build, I think.

If the model is already done, I can't imagine it's much more than a single dialog and a few lines of code to add it. Why delay? And laffo if you think devs should 100% adhere to a 'roadmap' with zero deviations.

Not having said option isn't stopping me from playing Subnautica, nor is any real character customization option either. But it is mildly discouraging that any progress hasn't been mentioned by the devs towards this topic in over a year, save for a throwaway entry on a Trello card.
I wonder if they could do the female audio etc before v1.0, and add the character after? As then it wouldn't be as bad for those that get their immersion broken by the audio.
I think it's worth pointing out that our character is so horribly physically deformed, that really, who can tell? If I saw someone looking like that in real life, I wouldn't think "oh, it's a guy." I would think "holy god-emperor of mankind, what the hell is THAT!?"

lol gotta remember this game isn't based on reality also the devs are really aiming this game to be towards 10 year olds and up. It's meant to look a bit cartoonish.
