Gasopod are Friends

I had a pesky stalker hanging out side my base and would follow me a lot, biting and attacking me until swim into a pod of gasopods.
The stalker didn't stand a chance. I did not feed or play metal tag with the stalker.

Has anyone tried to use a Gasopods gas bomb and use against the stalkers?
Every time I try and get one it goes off in my face. lol
