So I started a new game to see all the new updates, and as I get out of the lifepod I see a Seamoth. Is this a new feature in the game or something? I thought you had to get the fragments and build it from scratch.

Heh, same thing happened to me. My knife disappeared, but a Seamoth was sitting there. It wouldn't dock into a Moonpool though. Just a temporary glitch I'm sure.
Docked for me. I'll not turn away a gift. The D.S.V (Twilight) Sparkle is now docked in its own pool, next to the D.S.V Luna, named after THE TRUE PRINCESS OF THE NIGHT!

I really hope a free seamoth is NOT a new feature. I consider getting the seamoth to be the transition point from the early game to the midgame. Having it from the get-go would make the game WAY too easy.

Wouldn't the D.S.V Shoo Be Doo be more appropriate for at least one of those?
They are playing experimental mode, which receives updates every day. It is much more prone to bugs and crashes, and general oddities like this. I remember the floating doors rather fondly. They made excellent landmarks.

That bug made it into stable for a while.
