<div class="IPBDescription">Shell.mdl?!</div> Many people have had problems with "<b>Shell.mdl</b>" being inconsistent with new v1.03 servers.
By default, the only copy of shell.mdl is in Half-Life's Pak0.pak. People both with and without the Hi-Def pack have had this problem.
<b>There is one known fix, download the v1.03 version of NS, it's only 2mb, and contains a working shell.mdl, even though it's the exact same file size-wise to the one that comes with Half-Life.</b>
<b>You can get the update <a href='http://mirror2.lanvancouver.com/ns-v103.zip' target='_blank'>here</a>.</b>
Some people have similar problems with other files. I got an error for a sound pack for Half-Life that replaced all movement sounds. Even though it was for plain Half-Life, it still gave me errors. Search for the file in question and see if it exists anywhere on your hard-drive, if it exists OUTSIDE the NS folder, try temporarily re-naming it and see if it fixes your problem.

1) I have no custom models or sounds.
2) shell.mdl is in valve\pak0.wad, not ns\models, and I don't have a custom replacement for it.
3) The only custom models I have had were valve\models\hgib.mdl and agib.mdl, invisible zero poly gib models. I've been using them for months before NS even came out. Removing them doesn't fix the problem either.
So, WTF is this doing this? I'll try re-installing in a minute.</span><!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Shell.mdl is part of HL. What if I install the Hi-Def pack?
I just reinstalled NS, and am still getting the same msg when trying to join a 1.03 server.
Anyone know how to fix this?!
Have you guys tried totally deleting your HL directory and starting over from scratch?
This shell.mdl fixed it for me, but it then gave me errors with custom PLAIN HALF-LIFE mods I had DL'ed. After I made my version of Half-Life lame and unchanged again, it worked.

A good majority of T2 players have had to reinstall Tribes2 every patch for exactly that reason.
Vadakill
But me and a mate were smarter and just downloaded the server-side patch it contained a shell.mdl I extracted it to my ns/models dir and now it works <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
So I am saving you guys some trouble and attach a zip with the good shell.mdl here <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

pak0.pak
and pak1.pak (high def pack) in the HL dir
Can you tell me how to turn off the consistency checking on my server? Running NS 1.03 and ClanMod.
Also, anyone know exactly what the mp_trainingmode variable does?
Thanks!
