Two benefits to having this much player input into development is that you know what the people want more often, and you can gather some pretty loyal fans.
However, one disadvantage is that you lack any ability to surprise your audience really. We all basically know what is going to be in the game in general. They release concept art and models and animations for us.
I haven't been around all that long though.
Will the team ever surprise us with something for Subnautica? Purposely keep something in development a secret and then release it in a patch as a mystery one must discover?
