Planter wall - as sound dampening?

A possible use for the (decorative) Planter wall. When I build close to an open volcanic vent - it's super noisy and annoying. Rather than give up on those locations, how about make the planter wall dampen the noise? More walls, quieter (more relaxing?) it gets.
Over the top version - More than 3 and we start getting insect/island noises :)

    I'd like to see the Living Wall affect oxygen generation rate (increase speed of tank refill when in the base, or maybe continue to produce oxygen for a while if the power runs out). Right now all it does is make a nice backdrop for my aquarium, so my little POWs don't get so homesick.
