I don't know about you guys, but Subnautica being my favourite game ever made, I believe it has massive potential to at least be nominated for an award at SXSW. If you don't know what SXSW is, it's a festival of "music, film and interactive"; and the interactive part is games. The festival happens once a year in Austin, Texas.
Anyway, there are many different awards that are given out (excellence in art, excellence in SFX, excellence in narrative...). The most sought out award is video game of the year, but I doupt that this will win it ('cause games like Dishonored 2, Dark Souls 3 or Uncharted 4 are hard to beat). I see potential in the following awards:
If v.1.0 comes out in 2016, is has great potentiam to be nominated for the next SXSW (which will be in January, I think).
These are just my feelings, you don't need to follow them if you don't agree with me, not even if you're a dev. Don't let this put any pressure on you, don't speed up in the developing. Please, take your time to finish this already-amazing game. If you don't finish this year, then don't worry, you'll have a big chance for next year.

And if you don't decide to enter or don't get nominated, I won't feel any different towards this game at all. Unless a new good game comes out which will blow my mind more that Subnautica (which I highly freakin doupt), this game will stay my favourite one ever made.
